Likewise Classical method of Kwatha by addition of eight parts of water and reduction up to one-fourth part is recommended in case of Arjuna and Manjishta as compared to sixteen parts of water used for kwatha preparation. • Three and four hours boiling techniques, are found to be the alternative techniques to the conventional techniques that are time -saving and economical. • Soxhlet extraction method is best for maximum extraction of markers @1000 C. Soxhlet method of Manjishta Kwatha is qualitatively best but it is highly time and fuel consuming hence cannot be recommended as alternative techniques • As far as antimicrobial Study is concerned Arjunaand Manjishta have proved to be a good antimicrobial agents as maximum sensitivity was reported toward all studied species. Also Conventional and pressure cooker method has higher antibacterial potential. Anti-fungal effect on C. albicans was not observed in all samples of Guduchi Kwatha. • Presence of Common unknown phytoconstituents in Guduchi and Arjuna and Manjishta Kwatha ensure the presence of heat-stable potent phytoconstituents, which may have no impact of processing techniques and may be specific to that drug. • Overall, it can be concluded that Conventional methods need to be practiced in Kwatha preparation as per the consistency of drugs. The importance of boiling hours and temperature patterns are highlighted in alternative techniques. It also suggests time- based methods which have three to four hours boiling ensures the quality with conventional methods by studying analytical parameters. • This study set preliminary data regarding pharmaceutical standard operating procedures and analytical standards for Guduchi, Arjuna, and ManjishtaKwatha which will be helpful for further study. | Aushadhi Bhavan, Ayurved Seva Sangh, Nashik |
